The Anthropologists by Ayşegül Savaş is another book I found through my favorite influencer channel. Being some kind of anthropologist myself, I was curious right away. The story is about a couple starting their lifes in a foreign city. It’s also about rituals and the challenges that come with creating new traditions. „I wanted to tell her that it was all right, it even made me happy. I wished she would ask me for things more often. This was what I had in mind when I imagined growing native to a place–this sense that I was needed in someone else’s life“, is a quote that stuck with me. This book is also printed on FSC paper.
The Full Moon Coffee Shop by Mai Mochizuki is an awesome book for people who love magical stories and want to know more about astrology. I didn’t know about this book before even though it is a best-seller in other countries, but I liked the idea of a pop-up coffeeshop with cats. The story is wonderfully written and gives the readers easy-to-understand insights about the going-ons in the universe. I also like the beautiful little illustrations and the fact that the book is printed on FSC paper.
Good Girl by Aria Aber was also highly recommended in this certain Leipzig magazine. After editing a book about club culture, I wanted to read more books on the subject. This coming-of-age novel is about a young woman from Afghanistan who meets an older man in Berlin’s most famous club and becomes deeply attracted to him and his actions. I haven’t finished the book yet, but I really like it so far. It’s printed on FSC paper.
